Position: Resource Development Officer (part-time or full-time)

Organizational Profile:

CREA is a women's rights organization headquartered in New Delhi that works nationally in India, across the South Asia and East Africa regions, and internationally as advocates at the Human Rights Commission of the United Nations. Through innovative programming and strong partnerships, we work to generate and maintain strong feminist networks for social change, help strengthen activists and movements working to advance women's rights and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), and directly empower women and girls living and working at the grassroots. CREA also brings its global South perspectives, knowledge and experience to inform and influence the academic and theoretical discourse of human rights. Over the past decade, our learning Institutes, training work, advocacy and campaigns have reached over 50,000 people.

Due to the success of its programmes and the uniqueness of its work and approach, CREA has secured the support of major funders of human rights work, including bilateral donors, major private Foundations and women's funds. We are currently scaling up our capacity to manage current donors and pursue new funding opportunities and seek a knowledgeable fundraiser with a commitment to human rights principles.

Key Responsibilities: As our Resource Development Officer, your responsibilities will include:

-- In coordination with the Manager, Resource Development and other relevant consultants, prepare funding proposals for major RFPs, and submit all donor reports.
-- Manage ongoing communication with donors, and build strong relationships with current and new donors.
-- Identify potential new donors, including prospect research and developing concept notes.
-- Manage donor records (hard copy and using our donor management software) and keep up to date information on donors, including contact points, action items and proposal/reporting deadlines.
-- Assist in the coordination of donor meetings, and preparation of necessary support materials.
-- Liaise with the Executive Director and key programme staff.

Key Characteristics: An ideal candidate should:

-- Be a Graduate in the field of social science/human rights/international development.
-- Have 5-7 years of experience in resource development and/or external communications; preference will be given to people with solid fundraising experience.
-- Have an understanding of issues relating to women's rights and the sexual and reproductive rights of all people, and a commitment to advancing these rights.
-- Be an excellent writer in English and be able to communicate well with both internal and external audiences.
-- Be detail oriented and thorough, with an ability to self-motivate and produce high-quality work.
-- Be committed to ongoing professional learning and sharing knowledge with CREA staff.
