RESPONSES FROM IBTIDA PARTNERS

“It was at the World Social Forum that I realized that violence against women or the negative impact of globalisation is a world wide phenomenon. Violations exist whether the women live in Burundi or Colombia or India. It was amazing to meet with so many people and learn so much.”

I came out of my naqaab and got the courage to pursue my goals. The village Maulvi came to our house and instigated my husband saying he was being irresponsible and was not being a man. He asked my husband to stop me from going out of the house to work. So I told the Maulvi that I wouldn’t go out to work if he gives me the whole month’s provisions for our family for our whole life. After listening to this he remained quiet and went away. I reasoned with my husband and he supports my work today.” Reshma, Sangtin

“We have used the manual for Domestic violence in Hindi, published by CREA, in our trainings and have found it very useful. The manual describes sequentially how a workshop can be designed and conducted, which we have used. We also find the language of the manual very easy and some of the games in it have helped us a lot” Kalpana, Gram Unnati Sansthan
