DEEPALI KHANNA: Country Director, Plan International (Vietnam)
Deepali is the Country Director of Plan Vietnam since 2003. Based in Hanoi, she is an experienced and successful manager within the development
sector. From July 2007, she will be the Regional Director for Eastern & Southern Africa for Plan International, based in Johannesburg, and responsible for operations in 12 countries. Her work expereince includes working with Plan offices and programs in South Asia and Eastern and Southern Africa, Deepalya Education Society in India and UNICEF. Since graduating in 1984 from the Delhi School of Social Work, Delhi University with a Masters in Social Work, Deepali has been working in the development sector for 21 years.

GEETANJALI MISRA: Co-founder and Executive Director of CREA (India)
Geetanjali has worked in India and the United States on issues of human rights, gender, sexuality and reproductive health and violence against women. She was the Sexuality and Reproductive Health Program Officer at the Ford Foundation where she worked on issues of HIV/AIDS, sexuality, violence against women and research and advocacy relating to reproductive freedom. She is the co-founder of SAKHI for South Asian women in New York, a non-profit organization committed to ending violence against women of South Asian origin. She is currently Co-Director of The Sexuality and Rights Institute in India, on the board of Trustees of Reproductive Health Matters, an international peer reviewed journal, and President Elect (2006-2007) of the Association for Women’s Rights in Development (AWID).

JAC SM KEE: Editor, genderIT.org, Association of Progressive Communications, Women’s Networking Support Programme (Malaysia)
Jac is the editor for genderIT.org, a portal on gender and ICT policy matters by the Association of Progressive Communications, Women’s Networking Support Programme. She is also co-founder of Knowledge & Rights with Young People through Safer Spaces (KRYSS), working with young people on the issue of rights through creative platforms.

MANAL SALEH: Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist, Reproductive Health Care and Family Planning Project (Egypt)
Manal is currently a Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist at Reproductive Health Care and Family Planning Project. She has a Masters degree in Economics for International Development from the American University in Cairo. She has been working in the community development field since the year 2001 through a number of local and international non-government organizations; including The Center for Development Services and The Association for Development and Enhancement of Women. She is also a freelance trainer and a volunteer at the EuroMed Youth program. Since 2005, Manal has been a consultant with CREA on the India - Palestine and Egypt Exchange: Creating and Strengthening Links for Community Development and Advocacy for Youth.

Mónica Alemán: Founder and current coordinator of the International Indigenous Women’s Forum (FIMI); Program Director and International Advocacy Coordinator, MADRE (U.S.A.)
Mónica is a founder and current coordinator of the International Indigenous Women’s Forum (FIMI). She is an Indigenous Miskita from Nicaragua who was among the planners and organizers of the International Youth Summit at the United Nations World Conference Against Racism (WCAR) in Durban in September 2001. Mónica was instrumental in establishing a Special Unit for Youth within the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights and Advocating for the development of a policy in this entity to mainstream youth issues. She also serves as MADRE’s Program Director and International Advocacy Coordinator.


NANCY ALI: Senior Field Program Manager, JHPIEGO (U.S.A.)
Nancy has been working in the field of international health and development for the past twelve years, primarily focusing on reproductive health and rights. She has worked extensively in the United States, Africa and the Middle East, providing technical assistance on research, training, and behavior change communication initiatives and interventions at both regional and country levels. As a Program Associate with the Population Council, she managed a health project designed to improve community-based health services for Palestinian women and children in several villages in the West Bank & Gaza. She has also helped in coordinating, monitoring and facilitating all project related activities for CREA’s India – Palestine and Egypt Exchange Program.

NANDINI OOMMAN: Director of the HIV/AIDS Monitor, Center for Global Development (U.S.A.)
Nandini is the Senior Program Associate-Director at Center for Global Development (CGD) and has worked in India, South and Southeast Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa on issues of HIV/AIDS, population and reproductive health, women's health, social science methods and public health research. She joined CGD in March 2006 as the Director of the HIV/AIDS Monitor. Prior to joining CGD, Nandini consulted with private foundations in the United States as an independent researcher and has also examined issues of population and reproductive health assistance for the Packard Foundation. She has published widely on issues concerning reproductive and women’s health.

ROMITA SHETTY: Managing Director, RBS Greenwich Capital (USA)
Romita is Managing Director at RBS Greenwich Capital in Greenwich, Connecticut. Romita has a degree in International affairs with a specialization in finance and economics. She has been an investment banker for the last ten years and has worked at Standard and Poors where she was the youngest woman vice president. She is a co-founder of Sakhi for South Asian Women, a New York based non-profit organization committed to ending violence against women of South Asian origin. Romita continues to assist several South Asian organizations in New York City to raise funds from the corporate sector.

SAGRI SINGH: Senior Director, Country and Regional Programs, International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (USA)
Sagri completed her a doctoral degree in Public Health at the Johns Hopkins University in the United States After completing her Masters in Public Health from Harvard University, Sagri has worked extensively in the field of reproductive health both in India and abroad. She was the Project Director of the Adolescent Girls Program at the Population Council in India. Sagri has worked with the Ford Foundation Delhi, the International Women’s Health Coalition in New York, and the Centre for Population and Development Studies in Boston.
